Quickly return to a view of your model by saving camera views in your project. Saved camera views can be used in the Setup and Simulation tabs, and are particularly useful during post-processing analysis and reporting.

There are two types of camera views:

  • Local camera views are reusable only in the project they are created in.

  • Global camera views are reusable across all of your projects.

Create Cameras

  1. In the Simulation control panel, click the + icon next to Cameras. Alternatively, click on the camera icon at the bottom of the 3D Viewer.

  2. Select Local or Global to create a new camera view.

Note: Saved camera views only save the orientation of the geometry in the 3D Viewer. They do not include visualization filters that were applied when the view was saved.

Managing Cameras

Saved camera views will appear in the control panel under Cameras and in the camera icon menu at the bottom of the 3D Viewer.

  • You can rename a camera by double-clicking on it, or right-click and select Rename.

  • Delete cameras using the trash icon in the control panel or right-click and select Delete.

Grouping Cameras

Hold the Shift key to select multiple cameras, then right-click and select Group to group camera views together. You can also press G on your keyboard.

Global cameras are grouped automatically in the Global Cameras folder.

Right-click and select Ungroup to ungroup cameras. You can also press Shift + G on your keyboard. If one view is selected, just that view will be removed from the group. If the top level group is selected, all of the views will be ungrouped.
