Multislice
Updated over a week ago

A MultiSlice allows you to create and visualize a series of parallel slices between two points in the domain.

To create a multislice:

  1. Click the multislice icon in the visualization toolbar. This will open up the tool in the properties panel.

  2. Specify the Number of Slices. If you set this number to be 1, creating a single slice, you must then specify the Origin and Normal vector of the slice plane.

  3. Specify the Start and End coordinates of the line along which the slices will be taken. Because the slices will all be parallel, they will all be perpendicular to the vector between these two points.

  4. (Optional) Select Project Vectors to project vector fields such as velocity onto the slices. This is necessary if you want to subsequently create a vector visualization within the slices.

  5. Click the check button to apply the settings.

  6. Navigate to the Visualizations section of the control panel and select the Multislice visualization you just created.

  7. Use the dropdown menus in the Display section to adjust the final appearance of the slices.

Important: The maximum number of slices is 100.

Once created, you can cycle through the different slices using the slider at the bottom of the properties panel. You can also choose to show all of the slices at the same time.
