With your new project open, you'll see a dialog box asking you to upload a file:
Download this mesh file to your computer by clicking the above link.
Upload the file to your project. There are two ways to do this:
Drag the file directly from your computer onto this box. This will open the File Upload window with this file preselected.
Click Upload File... and from the File Upload window click Browse to search for the file on your computer.
Click the Import button to upload it.
Following successful import, you should see a round sphere in the 3D Viewer. This is the far field. On the left side of the 3D Viewer you'll see the different volumes and surfaces that were imported in the Geometry panel.
In the Surfaces section you'll see a list of numbered surface beginning with BC. Two of these make up the far field, and the others are the different surfaces on the airplane.
Group and rename these surfaces so you know which is which:
Click on the round sphere in the 3D Viewer. This will select one of the two halves of the far field. You'll see that they are named BC_0 and BC_1 in the Surfaces section. Select both (hold Shift and click), then right-click and select Group.
Double-click on the name of this surface group and rename it "Far Field".
Click the eye to the right of the Far Field surface. This will turn off visibility for this surface.
Scroll to the top of the Surfaces section in the Geometry panel and click to select the first surface in the list. Then scroll to the bottom, hold the Shift key, and click on the last surface. This should select all other surfaces in the list. Group these surfaces.
Double-click on the name of this new group. Name it "Airplane".
A few other useful 3D Viewer controls to experiment with include:
Click and drag with your mouse. This will rotate the model.
Hold down the Control key and click and drag with your mouse. This will translate the model.
Scroll upwards and downwards with your mouse scroll button. This will zoom in and out.
