An Intersection Curve allows you to sample data from points at the intersection of a plane and a surface or group of surfaces. You can then visualize a quantity over the resulting curve(s). You can use intersection curves to create XY Plots.
Extract the surfaces you'd like to sample data from.
Find the extracted surfaces entity in the Visualizations section of the control panel and click on it.
Click on the toolbox in the Visualization toolbar, then click Intersection Curve. This will open up the tool in the properties panel and create a visual aid showing the location and orientation of the curve within the 3D Viewer.
Set the Origin and Normal values.
Click the check button to apply the settings. This will also create an intersection curve entity nested under your extracted surfaces entity.
Create an XY Plot to visualize the data.
You can also create an intersection curve globally, but this will cover your entire model. In external flow cases, we recommend extracting surfaces first.
