Updated today

Starter Edition Trial Offer

Luminary's Starter Edition is a plan for engineers who want to get started on the platform quickly. The plan gives you immediate access to the platform, along with $500 in free credits. Starter Edition customers also get access to Luminary's Knowledge Base and self-service support.

Once the free credits are consumed, Starter Edition trial customers can continue to run simulations on a pay-as-you-go basis or upgrade to Professional Edition to get access to additional features.

Starter Edition FAQ

1. How does Starter Edition work?

You can start using Luminary Cloud with 100 free credits. After the credits are used up or expired, you can choose to continue using Starter Edition by adding payment information or upgrading to Professional Edition.

2. What is a credit?

A credit is a unit to measure the usage of Luminary compute. Credits can be consumed by simulations, visualizations, storage, and data transfer. Please see the Consumption Table for details.

3. Do the free credits expire?

Yes, in 60 days.

4. How many simulations can I expect to run with my 100 FREE credits?

It depends on the type of simulation you set up and run. Typically, you can expect to run 5-10 steady-state RANS simulations.

5. Are any features unavailable with Starter?

Yes. Transient simulations, Designs of Experiments, and the ability to add another user to the account for collaboration are not available for Starter Edition accounts.

The Starter Edition also includes limitations on mesh size and runtime. Simulations are limited to a mesh size of 80M CVs, and are automatically stopped after 10 minutes. For simulations that leverage Lumi Mesh Adaptation(LMA), this limit is extended to 25 minutes to allow time for re-meshing.

Note: LMA runs with more than a 20M CV target may not reach the target CV count due to the time limit.

6. Will I be able to access my projects when I run out of credits?

Yes. If you want to edit or run additional simulations, you will need to add credits or upgrade to Professional Edition.

7. How can I add more credits if I have run out?

Please reach out to our support team via the in-app Lumi Support to add credits or upgrade to Professional Edition. At this time, only customers within the United States can purchase credits.

8. Do I have to add a payment method when signing up?

No, you can get started immediately with 100 free credits.
