Health Check
Updated over a week ago

When you upload a CAD file, Luminary Cloud will perform a geometry health check to ensure that it's able to generate a mesh from the provided file. Your CAD model must pass this check before you can generate a mesh. You will see a list of any errors and/or warnings detected in your file when the health check completes.

Note: The geometry check process has a two-hour limit. If the process exceeds that time, it will be canceled automatically.

Important: If you are uploading a model for an external aerodynamics simulation and it fails the initial geometry check, creating a far field may resolve this. Otherwise, contact support for assistance. You may create a far field while the geometry health check is running.

Errors and Warnings

Errors found in your CAD file during the geometry health check must be corrected in your CAD application before you can generate a mesh file. Warnings can be ignored, but we recommend addressing them before moving on or you may notice impacts to your mesh quality.

The geometry health check can detect issues like duplicate vertices, unmeshable edges and faces, intersecting faces, open volumes, and more.
